A few days ago I posted a survey on r/SampleSize titled "Who's on Reddit?" The survey contained a large assortment of interesting questions posed by me and others. The questions were varied, including anything from some basic demographics to lengthy, personal inquiries.
It would be somewhat pretentious to expect acquiring any sense of what the "Reddit sample" is based on this survey. Selection bias is a thing, and only a limited number of people will care to go through 105 questions (!). Besides, I'm confident that the people lurking through SampleSize will not necessarily resemble the average Redditor. Point being, the nature of this survey is entirely casual. So take it with a grain of salt. Shorter surveys could be carried out to find more precise data on specific questions.
Nevertheless, the responses were exceptionally interesting. Some respondents took the opportunity to heart. Many were entertained by it; some went as far as finding it "therapeutical." It was the intention of this survey to be casual—to ask questions that could not be asked otherwise. Reading through the results was intriguing. I found that it was not uncommon for individual responses to follow central themes. When asked personal questions people will hint at what's most important to them.
To complement this survey, I've also used data from a previous similar survey I did years ago. The first survey received 1387 responses, though it was significantly shorter. The second did 408. Both samples resemble each other.

The average Redditor is 27 years old. Not suprising, really. In fact, the 20-30 range is by far the most common. Participants are as likely to be male as female, while 11.8% would characterize themselves as neither.
